Steam Turbine Sales Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a sales manager that has experience with steam turbines. The position requires significant travel, meeting with customers at their locations, understanding their process and integration of the steam turbine into their industrial system. Ability to perform Excel based analysis, including product sizing and performance calculations. Crafting project specific proposals is important, though we will have support staff to assist in the report and budgeting for proposal efforts. Presentations in front of customers and conferences are likely, so comfort in public speaking is important. Managing a diverse sales staff, with a variety of products to sell is important so that they will be inspired to sell turbine products. People skills are critical. A qualified candidate understands the importance of marketing efforts and how to work with marketing personnel to assist the sales process.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Support sales with total solution selling for existing and current customer.
Partner with sales to plan, prepare and execute strategic deals in complex sales opportunities.
Requirements include understanding blueprints, specifications, and related documents before, during, and after proposal.
Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition.
Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Read and interpret all Terms and Conditions and Contracts to ensure the company is entering into acceptable agreements

Working Knowledge – must understand the mechanics of the customer’s plant and our product line.
Must be skilled in MS Office Suite
Heavy experience in using MS Excel for analysis
Must be able to complete multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.
Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
Safety Oriented with the ability to work well within a team environment.
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job
Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:
Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
Must be physically capable of accessing all locations at customer site.
Access all areas within a site which could include heights, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
Will be working at times in covered environment or in an outside environment.
The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Particles.
The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
