The Broadband Network Technician is responsible for detecting, troubleshooting and resolving system outages for data, video, and telephone. This role will be responsible for emergency restoration of coax, underground cable, maintenance of power supply, leakage and splicing. The BNT is required to maintain documentation as needed. This role participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

This position will be based in Astounds Wilsonville, OR office, and would be an in office/field role.

A Day in the Life of the Broadband Network Technician:

  • Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages
  • Emergency coax restoration
  • Underground cable
  • Maintenance (power supply, actives)
  • Leakage
  • Splicing
  • Documentation
  • Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 2+ years experience as a Technician in the Telecommunications industry (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial ( HFC ) network experience preferred)

  • Proficiency in problem-solving, time management, and basic computer skills

  • Experience with power tools, reading and interpreting NIMS and AutoCAD maps

  • Must possess a working knowledge of Ohm Law and Outside Plant operations

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team

  • Must possess a valid driver‘s license with a satisfactory driving record compliant with the company policy

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications in Bucket Truck (OSHA, and Ladder Safety preferred)

The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. The base salary range in Oregon for this position, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable, is:

  • Broadband Network Technician I - $23.15 - $32.41per hour
  • Broadband Network Technician II -$24.31 - $34.03 per hour
  • Broadband Network Technician III - $25.53 - $35.74 per hour
