The speech language pathologist develops and provides direct services within the student's educational setting according to the goals and objectives of the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The speech language pathologist collaborates with other classroom teachers and related service providers in the development and implementation of services, ensuring that the student's needs are met in all school settings. There are four positions available for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualifications: Current and valid PEL with a Speech Language Pathologist endorsement. Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish. Outstanding knowledge of the principles and techniques of speech-language therapy. Knowledge of the methods and procedures for the assessment and treatment of communication disorders. Ability to develop, evaluate, and modify IEPs based on assessment data. Able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement best practices designed to ensure that a student's needs are met in all school settings. Strong communication skills, and the ability to prepare and deliver written and oral summaries of evaluations and other reports to colleagues and families. Ability to establish a positive rapport with students. Understands the importance of communicating and working closely with the families of students. Primary Responsibilities: Screens and assesses students' communication skills to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students, determining program eligibility and recommendations for treatment. Actively participates in IEP meetings sharing data and information related to the student's communication needs, progress, and performance. Participates in developing IEPs, including measurable goals and objectives for each student based on assessment results and specific communication needs. Collaborates with teachers and parents to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs. Prepares, reviews, and submits a variety of requested reports and data, to ensure fulfillment of established program requirements. Develops treatment plans and provides direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving speech, language, and communication skills. Works with teachers and staff to support students in the classroom and provide strategies for accommodating their needs. Maintains accurate and complete educational records such as progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, and screening results as required by law, District policy, and administrative direction. Communicates frequently with families providing information about: The progress of individual students; and How families can support their students' communication needs and progress outside of school. Contributes positively to the school community by: Collaborating with colleagues in a professional learning community. Participating in faculty meetings. Participating in district/school provided professional development. Volunteering to participate in school/district events and projects; and Supporting school/district initiatives. Maintains a commitment to ongoing professional learning, staying current with best practices. Displays a high level of ethics and professionalism in interactions with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians. Salary and Benefits: Starting salary of $60,697. Qualified candidates may be granted up to twenty years of verified full-time teaching experience for credit on the salary schedule.
