Established in 1958, Tumac Covers has stood as the premier producer of top-tier boat covers, serving boating manufacturers, dealers and enthusiasts alike. As the Purchasing Manager at Tumac Covers you will lead procurement operations to ensure a steady, cost-effective supply of materials that support production goals. In this role you will manage supplier relationships, oversee inventory strategies, and drive continuous improvement in sourcing, cost control and compliance.Responsibilities and Duties:Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production goals and cost-efficiency targetsSource and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, components, and equipmentOversee physical inventory processes, including cycle counting, reconciliation, and reporting, to ensure inventory accuracy and support production planningCoordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to manage shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely delivery of materials and proper documentation of inbound and outbound goodsMonitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to ensure timely material availabilityEvaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost metricsMaintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventoryForecast material requirements and adjust procurement plans accordinglyEnsure compliance with company policies and industry regulationsCollaborate with engineering and production teams to align purchasing with technical specificationsManage and mentor purchasing staff, including buyers and procurement specialistsAnalyze market trends to anticipate material cost fluctuationsOversee contract development and manage vendor agreementsResolve supply chain issues and delivery delays proactivelyImplement cost-saving initiatives without compromising qualityCoordinate with finance to manage budgets and track procurement KPIsQualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environmentStrong negotiation and vendor management skillsProficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelSolid understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles including: physical inventory, shipping/receiving, sourcing, etc.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesFamiliarity with regulatory compliance and quality standards in manufacturingProfessional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPP) are a plusAlign with Patrick Industries "BETTER Together" mentality by pursuing Balance, Excellence, Trust, Teamwork, Empowerment, and Respect within the organization.Patrick is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Location: Elkhart, Indiana, US, 46516Work Arrangement: On-siteBusiness Unit: Marine Group CorporateNearest Major Market: Elkhart Nearest Secondary Market: South Bend
