Role Description

The firm is seeking a municipal law attorney with substantial experience in transactional, land use and advisory matters for their Sacramento area office. This is a non-litigation position.

 

Candidate must have 5+ years experience representing public agencies on transactional and advisory matters, and have direct experience serving as legal advisor to a planning commission or another public body or board. Must have experience providing advice on compliance with the Brown Act, Public Records Act and Political Reform Act. Attorney should be able to step in to cover planning commissions and other meetings.


Significant experience in at least one or more of the following areas is required: Land use and zoning laws (granting of Variances, CUPs), environmental regulation and compliance (including CEQA/NEPA), development agreements, redevelopment dissolution process, water law, election law, first amendment law, medical marijuana law, fair housing/group home regulation.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Current member of California Bar in good standing
