POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Fleet Dispatcher / Haul Division Manager, you will play a significant part in the success of planning, organizing, scheduling and coordinating company-owned and lease haul trucks. He or she assists the Superintendents and Foremen in securing and scheduling legal haul trucks to meet the needs of Overland Corporation and Overland Materials & Manufacturing, Inc. Excellent communication, attention to detail and an ability to work well in a team environment are considered critical to this position. We are looking for individuals with motivation and eagerness to expand their skillset in civil infrastructure construction.

Based in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Overland Corporation and Overland Materials & Manufacturing, Inc. is one of Oklahoma’s largest general contractors and asphalt material producers. We self-perform work such as light earthwork grading, subgrade stabilization, aggregate base, drainage and asphalt paving. While headquartered in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the majority of our work is concentrated in the Central and South-Central regions of Oklahoma.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Trucking Division has an immediate opening for a Fleet Dispatcher / Haul Division Manager. This individual directly supervises and coordinates activities of 25 to 80 drivers engaged in delivering aggregate, asphalt and other materials to plant sites, job sites, customers, and directly oversees the field Trucking Foreman. In addition, the Fleet Dispatcher / Haul Division Manager supervises internal equipment move haul trucks; moving company-owned assets from project to project; plant site to plant site. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
o Interviews and hires applicants.
o Promotes, participates in performance appraisals, rewards, disciplines, addresses complaints, and resolves problems regarding employees.
o Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
o Oversees loading and dispatching of dump truck drivers and trucks.
o Plans routes and schedules drivers and trucks for delivery of aggregates and other materials.
o Ensures established routes and schedules are maintained.
o Communicates with equipment manager, supervisors, plant managers, job foremen, and outside customers for delivery of aggregates and other materials.
o Hires and schedules outside trucks to assist in deliveries to plants and jobs.
o Orders state, county, and city permits for oversize and overweight loads.
o Approves and codes timecards, fuel tickets, and delivery tickets.
o Tracks drivers’ hours of service and monitors logbooks to ensure DOT compliance.
o Maintains files for driver daily logs and daily vehicle inspection reports for DOT compliance.
o Compiles list of available trucks.
o Assigns trucks according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, and freight requirements.
o Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
o Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
o Investigates overdue trucks.
o Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio or other available communication method.
o Issues equipment to drivers such as material handling supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Assigns helpers to drivers.
o During absence of other dispatch personnel, additional tasks may be required.
Qualifications
o High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
o Basic computer skills
o A working knowledge of HCSS HeavyJob, Equipment 360 and Fleetwatcher is a plus
