A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team at one of their inpatient mental health facilities in Syracuse.

Responsibilities:

The Inpatient Mental Health Nurse (RN) will:

  • Administer medications and injections
  • Perform tube feedings; hang IVs; collect blood samples if certified for venipuncture
  • Provide colostomy care
  • Observe patients and report changes in their condition
  • Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
  • Obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a Physician
  • Prepare and apply simple dressings; bathe and feed patients/residents
  • Care for patients/residents and their quarters by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving patients/residents and caring for their personal effects.
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Clinical experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing
  • NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • BLS certification

Desired Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in a Behavioral Health setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
