A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team at one of their inpatient mental health facilities in Syracuse.
Responsibilities:
The Inpatient Mental Health Nurse (RN) will:
- Administer medications and injections
- Perform tube feedings; hang IVs; collect blood samples if certified for venipuncture
- Provide colostomy care
- Observe patients and report changes in their condition
- Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
- Obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a Physician
- Prepare and apply simple dressings; bathe and feed patients/residents
- Care for patients/residents and their quarters by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving patients/residents and caring for their personal effects.
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Clinical experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing
- NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- BLS certification
Desired Skills:
- 1+ years of experience in a Behavioral Health setting
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
