The position will assist in implementing process improvements to help the team streamline and enhance efficiencies, promote the analysis and communication of results, and provide proactive customer service to business partners. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who collaborates well with team members and is eager to learn.


What you will do:


  • Assist in the monthly closing process, including preparation of journal entries, financial statements, and related variance/account analysis.
  • Maintain balance sheet schedules, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and address any reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting and audit deliverables for assigned broker-dealers and consolidated entities.
  • Participate in the identification, enhancement, and timely execution of internal controls.
  • Support/participate in analysis of current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures.
  • Support other functions (e.g., FP&A, Technical Accounting) in requests and projects.
  • Ad hoc requests as determined by management.


What you will have:


  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field with a solid understanding of GAAP.
  • 1-2 years relevant accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, communication and follow-up skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and driven with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to keep meticulous records while maintaining accuracy and focus on key details.
  • Computer savvy with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with Oracle and Blackline (or similar systems) preferred.
  • Prior experience in broker-dealer or financial services industry preferred.
  • CPA license is a plus, but not required.
