Extrusion Maintenance Manager

The Extrusion Maintenance Manager is a vital member of the local leadership team, working closely with the President, Production Manager, and Engineering. The Maintenance Manager will act as a technical advisor and is responsible for overall maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant manufacturing equipment and the overall facility itself. Provides leadership and supervision to the Maintenance team in the assignment and coordination of work to ensure safety, quality, and maximum production efficiencies


The ideal candidate will be constantly assessing the systems in place to ensure that they are both safe and operating efficiently. This candidate will be comfortable managing a team and conducting analysis in order to highlight areas for improvement. This candidate should also be comfortable ensuring necessary utilities are working correctly and possess strong organizational skills in order to keep track of multiple projects at once, as well as to develop and oversee execution of periodic maintenance work plans.

Responsibilities


  • Oversee, plan, and issue work orders to appropriate team members for the implementation of equipment modifications as well as preventative and any corrective maintenance.
  • Work closely with production departments to ensure equipment is maintained on a consistent basis and all PM schedules are met in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare and coordinate maintenance resources and provides recommendations for capital and continuous improvement projects.
  • Review the operation of equipment with appropriate personnel to identify maintenance issues in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Track and improve machine downtime, increasing machine reliability that supports manufacturing to meet customer demand.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures that are trackable and accountable to ensure maximum efficiency of the maintenance department.
  • Escalate any problems early and schedule repairs in order to minimize loss to business.
  • Analyze processes to ensure efficient functioning and perform analysis to make adjustments.
  • Foster a positive working environment and drives the Maintenance team to meet set productivity targets and performance standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations mangagement, or related field preferable
  • 5 years maintenance experience specific to extrusion
  • 5 years supervisory experience with heavy machinery, production lines or related fields
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify and solve inefficiencies in processes
  • Demonstrated success in managing a team
