Oracle PL/SQL Programmer

The Oracle PL/SQL Programmer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining PL/SQL code and database objects. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle databases, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle 12c, 18c, and 19c, and a strong background in database performance tuning and optimization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy PL/SQL code to support application requirements.
  • Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
  • Perform database tuning and optimization to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design and optimize database queries and ensure efficient data access.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data integrity, and security concerns.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and user guides.
  • Implement and maintain data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry trends, and apply them to improve existing solutions.
  • Provide support and mentoring to junior database developers and other team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Programmer or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in PL/SQL programming and Oracle database management.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c, 18c, and 19c.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge of database design principles and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with Oracle development tools and utilities, such as SQL*Plus, SQL Developer, and TOAD.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional.
  • Experience with Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms, or other Oracle development frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Experience with cloud-based database services such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
