Our client is looking for a Network Engineer. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation and security of our network infrastructure across multiple locations. The Network Engineer will be responsible for network administration, troubleshooting, system administration, network security, and providing technical support.
Position Summary:
- Provide technical support for 500+ users and 12 satellite offices, ensuring efficient resolution of network-related issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and product information to troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures.
- Configure, maintain, and update Cisco network hardware including switches and firewalls.
- Install and maintain structured cabling systems, including CAT 5/6 and fiber optics, and manage network drops as required.
- Address and mitigate network security threats including viruses, malware, and social engineering attacks.
- Support and manage Microsoft Azure environments, including Azure Active Directory and Office 365 integrations.
- Develop and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization systems.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of network and routing protocols, Windows Server environments, and switch configuration and programming.
- Write and manage scripts in PowerShell to automate routine tasks and processes.
- Perform network design and capacity planning to support scalability and performance.
- Diagnose problems with network equipment and perform equipment repairs or upgrades as necessary.
- Install, configure, and maintain security measures such as IPS/IDS, firewalls, anti-virus, anti-spam, and anti-malware software to ensure network protection.
Minimum Experience:
- An associate’s degree in computer science or a related field is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on networking experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and network security practices, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
- In depth knowledge of switch and router configuration (series 8300 and 9300 are a huge plus)
- Ability to manage DNS, DHCP environments
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Microsoft Azure support.
- Certifications: Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certifications are advantageous.
- Proficiency in managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
- Operational understanding of network hardware, protocols, and services.
