Explore our job openings and take the next step in your career Position Overview: Sonic Reference Laboratory (SRL) is the national reference laboratory for Sonic Healthcare USA, specializing in esoteric testing. Our laboratory staff benefit from a unique test menu and a culture focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. The Laboratory Scientist I will play a vital role in performing precise and complex analyses of patient samples using LC-MS/MS and HPLC analytical techniques, ensuring adherence to SRL protocols and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Prepare non-critical solutions such as mobile phases and buffers. Conduct automated and routine liquid-liquid extractions, supported liquid extractions, solid phase extractions, and dilute and shoot methods. Work independently to plan and execute laboratory tasks efficiently. Document all procedural processes clearly and promptly. Perform basic maintenance and setup of LC-MS/MS and HPLC instruments. Monitor assays on LC-MS/MS and HPLC instruments. Apply basic troubleshooting skills to instrumentation as needed. Contribute to laboratory upkeep, including cleaning glassware, managing biohazard waste, and maintaining small equipment. Assist with paperwork associated with daily production runs. Help maintain laboratory inventory effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific field. Preferred: 1+ years of laboratory experience. Preferred: 1+ years of experience in extraction methods. Preferred: 1+ years of experience with LC-MS/MS techniques. Skills and Competencies: Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, supervisors, and managers. Exceptional attention to detail. Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to manage workload fluctuations and meet deadlines. Ability to perform essential calculations as needed. Capable of implementing policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
