Grants and Financial AnalystJob Locations US-NY-RyeJob ID 2025-7449Category Finance/AccountingMinimum Rate USD $72,000.00/Yr.Maximum Rate USD $78,000.00/Yr.Work Location Type HybridResponsibilitiesThe Grants and Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing an independent research portfolio of faculty members with a wide range of complex research projects.including the development and management of various complex government, foundation and corporate grants and contracts that support medical research. The main responsibilities will manage Pre-Award, Post Awards and Compliances for the New York Blood Center and all its affiliates, including the development and management of various complex government, foundation and corporate grants and contracts that support medical research. Pre-Award Manage all administration related to research grant applications. Create and maintain all processes, procedures, forms, templates, and databases that relate to Pre-award Grant and proposal submissions. Provide administrative and technical guidance and support to investigators seeking outside funding for research. Research and interpret relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards, and oversees the processing of contracts and/or grants. Maintain and monitor grant and contract tracking systems and databases, producing standard and ad hoc reports as needed. Prepare budgets, administrative forms, and compile final grant application submissions. Review and edit incoming proposals for accuracy of structure, compliance with policies and procedures, conflicts of interests, and appropriateness of terms and provisions. Assist investigators and staff in navigating Government systems including eRA commons, grants.gov and NIH ASSIST. Post Award Reconcile accounts; perform accounting associated with monthly and annual close; support financial audits. Ensure completion of regular financial attestations and other reports. Ensure faculty members' funding portfolios (grants, contracts, gift funds, and discretionary funds such as start-up funding) are properly managed. Attend and participate in meetings with PIs. Act as a departmental point of contact and resource. Recommend budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures. Create Labor Distribution models to project when studies will have a deficit. Create and manage subaward agreements between NYBC and outside institutions as needed Clear suspense, overdrafts, and liquidation of open commitments. Processes Labor Accounting transactions in a timely fashion. Setup, revise and/or re-budget awards into our ERP financial system QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or Finance, Economics, Business or a related field. Experience: 3+ years of Finance & Grant administration in Non-Profit or Research Academic Institutions Preferred: Certificate in Research Administration Knowledge: Must possess detailed familiarity with principles of sponsored project financial management, including relevant federal regulations as well as typical institutional policies, procedures, and best practices Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Adobe Professional Possess intermediate Excel skills, including familiarity with creation and use of complex pivot tables, lookup functions, and other features for formatting, manipulating, and analyzing data Must be familiar with Federal Government online systems pertinent to position (examples include eRA Commons, EBARP and ASSIST) Skills: Organized with an ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately with Principal Investigators. Must be able to communicate effectively on a technical level with external departments Abilities: Strong ability to manage budgeting, forecasting and analytical functions in a dynamic environment Customer focused with outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $72,000.00 p/yr. to $78,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
