Job Title: Medical Scribe Location: Emergency Medicine Associates Department: ER Physician-Medical Group Req#: 48187 Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Pay Range: $17.67 - $17.67 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered will depend on several factors including the candidate's qualifications and experiences. Central Hospital Sites Include: RWJUH at Somerset, RWJUH at New Brunswick, RWJUH at Rahway, RWJUH at Hamilton Township. Job Overview: As a Medical Scribe, you will play a pivotal role in supporting clinicians by assisting with documentation and follow-up on diagnostics, enhancing their ability to engage with patients. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level healthcare professionals to expand their medical knowledge and gain essential clinical exposure while working alongside MDs, NPs, and PAs. Qualifications: High School Diploma Completion of science or clinical coursework required, or relevant clinical work experience may be considered. Experience in the healthcare field through work, volunteering, or shadowing is necessary; direct patient care experience is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management abilities Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Typing speed of 50 words per minute, adjusted for errors Scheduling Requirements: Full-time positions are available for both Day and Night shifts. Day shift start times range from 6:00am to 6:00pm, with rotation through various start times. Night shift start times range from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, with rotations as well. Weekends: Work 2 blocked weekends (Saturday and Sunday) per month. Ensured hours include a guaranteed 30 hours per week, with typical shifts totaling 36 hours per week. Essential Functions: Accompany clinicians and transcribe notes during patient consultations. Document conversations and relevant patient information into the EMR. Follow up on missing information needed to complete physician charts. Collect and input pertinent patient details from various sources. Make calls to other healthcare providers as requested by clinicians. Keep clinicians updated on diagnostics results and address any delays.
