Senior Tax Accountant

Senior Tax AccountantHaefele Flanagan is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing various tax returns, taking on in-charge responsibilities for client engagements, and directly communicating with clients. This role offers the opportunity to enhance technical skills, develop client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the firm. Hybrid and fully remote work environment options available.Responsibilities:Accurately prepare corporate, individual, partnership, and other tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations.Review tax returns prepared by Associates to ensure accuracy and compliance.Assume in-charge responsibilities for specific tax, accounting, and consulting engagements, overseeing the workflow and ensuring timely completion.Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships through effective communication.Demonstrate initiative in managing tax return processes and various accounting projects from start to finish, including proactive follow-up.Contribute to engagement efficiency through thoughtful planning and organization.Provide timely and clear updates to team members on engagement status.Collaborate with engagement team members to identify and develop additional accounting services for existing clients.Organize and coordinate workflow on multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.Begin to develop a specialized area of tax expertise.Cultivate professional contacts through networking in community events.Train new staff members in accounting, tax, and other relevant software.Serve as a knowledgeable resource for associates, providing guidance and supervision as needed.Proactively identify opportunities to improve client accounting functions and offer value-added suggestions.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum of 3-5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax.Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing corporate, individual, partnership, and other tax returns.Proven ability to take ownership of client engagements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to work.Proficiency in tax preparation software such as CCH Access (preferred).CPA license or actively pursuing certification.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamBenefits:In addition to a great base salary here are additional benefits we offer our employees to give them an excellent total benefits packageFully paid medical dental and vision insurance by the firm effective first day.Generous monetary contributions to HSA account by the firm (if enrolled in HSA plan).Employer paid life insurance (2x salary).Monthly cell phone stipend of $50.401(k) plan and 50% employer match up to 10% of salary - eligible to contribute first day of employment.HSA, FSA, 529 plans, and Supplemental Disability plans.Tuition, professional dues, and fees reimbursement.Client and employee referral bonus program.Work/Life Balance MattersFridays off in the summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day (32 hour work week).Generous PTO days and paid holidays.Casual attire and atmosphere.Employee Assistance Program.We feed you (even if you aren't hungry).Company Values and Culture:Looking for a place where open communication, streamlined processes and accountability matter?
