A publicly-held software company has engaged us to help them hire a Lead Legal Counsel for one of their subsidiaries. The business unit provides software for the upstream oil and gas industry, is headquartered in Houston and has operations in 17 countries. The role will report to a seasoned GC of one of the parent company’s other subsidiaries. As a generalist position working directly with the CEO and other members of the management team, this position will be a great stepping stone towards a GC role and offers opportunities for advancement with an entrepreneurial-minded company that has a long track record of success and low turnover.


About the Role:

Provide primary legal support to the various internal departments, including key players in other countries. Work with other in-house counsels and outside counsels, as required. Counsel on data privacy and data security matters. Negotiate and draft commercial contracts and other complex transactional agreements. Handle various corporate and I.P. matters. Manage litigation. Taking preemptive measures to avoid legal risks and conflicts.


Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

5-10 years' legal experience. In-house experience. Experience in the software industry. Admission to any United States State Bar.


Pay range and compensation package:

Base salary commensurate with experience. Annual discretionary bonus with equity potential.
