Job Description:

As a Data Migration / ETL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data migration and ETL processes. You will work closely with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into target systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop ETL processes to support data migration and integration projects.
  • Create and maintain data mapping and transformation rules to ensure accurate data migration.
  • Develop, test, and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading processes using ETL tools.
  • Perform data analysis and profiling to identify data quality issues and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to gather requirements and design data migration strategies.
  • Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs to ensure successful execution and data integrity.
  • Document ETL processes, data mappings, and technical specifications.
  • Provide support for data migration activities, including data validation and reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data migration and ETL development.
  • Proficiency in ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Experience with data modeling, data mapping, and data transformation.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications in data management or ETL tools are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based data integration platforms such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or Google Cloud Dataflow.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Shell scripting).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality management.
