Retail Sales AssociateRecology is now hiring for a Retail Sales Associate for our store located in Burien. The role involves working with the Store Manager by selling brand-appropriate products, providing customer service support, and building relationships with customers. The associate will educate customers about waste reduction and sustainability, and sell products which are reusable, recycled, or refurbished.Essential Responsibilities:Accept hard to recycle item drop offs, including potentially hazardous items such as batteries and fluorescent bulbs.Sort all material and log collection data.Promote and sell products designed to reduce waste.Educate customers about how they fit our Waste Zero mission.Open and close out the store each day, including compiling daily reports.Process customer payment and addresses basic customer service requests.Maintain visual standards and cleanliness of the store, including merchandising and facing product.Run the cash register, handling payments and bank deposits.Educate customers about waste reduction.Provide superior customer service to customers, both in store and over the phone.Stock product on sales floor.Continually expand knowledge of sustainability and brand-appropriate products and services.Provide information to Recology customers regarding collection schedules, rates, and billing details.Partner with the Waste Zero department and/or independently create, lead, and run events to attract customers to the store.Communicate and cooperate with other staff and departments in store, over the phone, and through email and chat-based channels.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Two years' of experience in customer service and/or retail; or equivalent of education and experience.Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications.Knowledge of retail sales operations, including industry standards, requirements and retail sales quality measurements.Preferred knowledge of industry specific software systems.High school diploma or GED required.Available weekends.Recology Offers:An ecologically innovative company that finds and mentors people committed to protecting the environment and sustaining our communities.The largest employee-owned resource recovery company in the industry with terrific benefits to help you prosper.A creative and caring culture that values community, diversity, altruism, accountability, collaboration, and learning by doing.An inspired company mission driven to use and return resources to their best and highest use through the practice of the 4R's: Reduce, Re-use, Recycle, and Recologize.Distinct professional challenges to connect with, care for, and grow community that sees a world without waste.Recology Benefits May Include:Paid time off and paid holidays.Health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision.Retirement plans (Employee Stock Ownership Plan, 401(k) with match).Annual wellness incentives.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Educational assistance.Commuting benefits.Employee referral program.Supplemental Information:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal records.It is important that you provide accurate information on the job application, inaccurate information may cause delays in the processing of your application and/or may disqualify you.
