We are currently looking for a Lab Associate (Phlebotomist/Drug Screen Technician) in the Charleston area with outstanding customer service skills. This position would include taking samples for clinical lab testing, drug testing, fingerprinting, and observed collections per company protocols. Potential applicants should have excellent administrative and communication skills, enjoy working in a small office team environment and have the desire to learn and perform in all areas of the business, to include front and back-office duties.  Phlebotomy point-of-care skills are required. Starting at $17.00 depending on experience.


Schedule

8am-5pm M-F

Occasional afterhours and weekends


Responsibilities

  • Be able to perform a variety of clerical and client service duties necessary to maintain an efficient flow of the office in a professional manner (including, not limited to: answer phones, check e-mail daily and respond, check in clients, schedule appointments, identify testing needs, collect payments when appropriate, etc)
  • Performing blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Performing toxicology and DNA collections according to protocol. Collections may be urine, hair nail, saliva, cheek swab, etc. (observed and unobserved gender specific urine collections required)
  • Ability to communicate with all clients and potential clients on all aspects of drug & alcohol testing services that the company offers
  • Office administration, record keeping and upkeep, maintaining customer protocols and electronic customer management
  • Working with other staff members to get people in and out of the lab in a timely manner


Requirements

  • 2-3 years phlebotomy experience
  • Must be punctual, dependable, professional, detail oriented and available at all scheduled work times
  • Strong computer skills, must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and the ability to learn new software. Must be able to move quickly between multiple systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to relate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to a wide range of clients as well as co-workers
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-moving environment and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work occasional after hours or weekends (scheduled or emergency) as needed
  • This position requires a lot of standing, sitting, walking through the lab and possibly lifting of supplies, up to 25 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • This position requires a detailed individual with a positive attitude, with excellent patient satisfaction skills. Individual must be an enthusiastic and reliable team player with the desire to grow within the position and company.
