Underwrites new business loan requests, renewals, and annual reviews, which includes the preparation of the appropriate credit analysis and risk rating package. Reviews collateral documents to include: appraisals, title policies, environmental reports, surveys, leases and construction contracts. This position will primarily support the Madison Business Lending Team and work out of the Madison office. REQUIREMENTS 1. Bachelor's degree in business or related field and a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in business/commercial credit analysis. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 2. This position will initially be hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home), working out of our Madison office. Occasional travel to New Berlin, WI office or Brookfield, WI - HQ may be required. Associates are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free workspace and a high-speed internet connection that's sufficient for completing their job remotely. 3. Must have strong financial and credit analysis skills as well as a detailed understanding of business credit documentation and business collateral documents. 4. Experience in software or systems used for credit analysis, and deposit and loan products. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently as a valuable team member in a dynamic environment. 6. Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. 7. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Meets with Business Loan Officers and/or borrowers to understand existing loans and new loan requests. 2. Completes all sections of the appropriate credit analysis and risk rating package so that the loan request and structure, collateral analysis, borrower background, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, loan policy compliance, future financial statement requirements, strengths and weaknesses and conditions to close are detailed in such a manner that a loan decision can be made. 3. Provides feedback to Business Loan Officers and supervisory staff regarding concerns with any aspects of loans underwritten. Recommends and models appropriate loan structure for new and existing loan relationships. 4. May be asked to contact business clients, accountants, attorneys or other necessary professionals to clarify questions related to the preparation of the credit analysis package. 5. When appropriate, attends business loan appointments with business loan officers to be part of the profiling process. 6. Requests and analyzes all necessary collateral documents and take a proactive approach in resolving any issues. 7. Requests necessary financial statements for the completion of annual reviews. 8. Completes annual reviews as per the requirements of the business loan policy and the dates established in the credit analysis package. Analyzes and studies the trends to determine the appropriate risk rating. Makes recommendations on risk rating changes. 9. Maintains annual review and risk rating reports. 10. May be asked to attend business loan committee meetings to present credit analysis information and/or other information relative to this position. 11. Assists in the annual review of the business lending policy. 12. Performs loan audit review work as assigned. 13. Performs other duties as assigned. EEO/Veterans/Disabled
