Job Title: Sleep Tech (Polysomnography)
Location: Mason City, IA
Job Type: Contract Travel 13 weeks
Shift: 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sleep Lab Technologist to join our dedicated sleep center team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting sleep studies and providing high-quality patient care to diagnose sleep disorders. You will work closely with patients to ensure they are comfortable during their sleep studies, operate specialized equipment, and provide detailed data to help physicians diagnose and treat sleep-related conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct overnight and daytime polysomnographic sleep studies for patients.
- Apply electrodes, sensors, and monitoring devices to patients according to protocol.
- Monitor and adjust equipment during the sleep study to ensure accurate results.
- Record and analyze sleep study data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Provide education to patients on sleep disorders, treatments, and the purpose of their sleep study.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Maintain and troubleshoot polysomnographic equipment as needed.
- Follow established protocols for patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a polysomnography program or equivalent experience.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification preferred or must be obtained within [X] months of hire.
- Knowledge of sleep disorders and related treatments.
- Experience with polysomnography equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
