Mechanical Engineer II (Design & Analysis)

Supporting development of advanced airborne systems including podded communication link and sensor systems, airborne armament equipment, alternate mission equipment, cockpit displays, avionics, and radar systems.

Additionally, this role will support the integration of new and existing systems onto airborne, shipborne, and ground vehicles.

The Mechanical Engineer II will support the development of new products and test hardware, as well as the improvement

of existing products.

The engineer will utilize their mechanical engineering skills during the proposal and concept evaluation, product development, production, and qualification testing phases of new product design.

The engineer will create design solutions that meet product requirements using 3-D CAD modeling software and will be hands-on supporting production, integration, and testing.


Required Skills:

• Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance

• Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility with an Integrated Product Team being hands on with hardware – not afraid to use tools, assemble prototypes, etc.

• A minimum of two years professional work experience required.

• Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies

Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred).

Experience using Finite Element Analysis Software (ANSYS preferred)

•Experience using Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis Software.

• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, (ASME Y14.5 standards)

• Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.

• Experience capturing key characteristics & requirements for systems.

• Performing trade studies.

• Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time.

Desired Skills:

• Design, integration, or test experience/understanding of any combination.

o Avionics

o Radar Systems

o Mobile Ground Systems

o Ground Vehicle Structures

o Custom/COTS Electronics including wires, relays, and analog electronics.

o Design for human factors / safety.

• Prototyping and agile methodology (quick turn solutions)

• Understanding manufacturing / fabrication of non-exotic materials.

• Understanding of structural design

• CREO skills

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program
