Purchasing/Planner AssistantThe Purchasing Planner Assistant is responsible for supporting the purchasing and planning functions, creating and maintaining schedules and satisfying material requirements and availability through evaluating supply and demand. The position requires extensive interaction with production supervision and personnel, in understanding schedules and capacity.Duties and responsibilities include:Working with the production planning team, purchasing, and customer service as needed to ensure material availability and support production schedules.Staying apprised of equipment downtime, equipment maintenance schedules, and work center capacity constraints.Working with Production (operations), Receiving, and Customer Service to complete daily production plans and meet shipping objectives.Supporting the purchasing team with purchase orders, vendor management, and follow-ups.Printing and maintaining physical work orders to support production schedules and customer requirements.Maintaining proper identification of parts by planning specifications and ensuring that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.Advising management of production status, and potential problems to ensure labor, tools, equipment, and services are provided as needed.Advising supervision and management of production scrap, rework and remakes, adjusts schedules, and communicates changes to customer service.Complying with all company safety rules and regulations.Performing other related duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Computer skills required: MRP/ERP Systems; Microsoft Office Suite.Other skills required:2+ years of purchasing or manufacturing production control and scheduling experience.Knowledge of production practices and procedures.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Ability to manage priorities and workflow.Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.Ira Green, Inc. is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
