As a Superintendent specializing in ground-up commercial projects, you will oversee all on-site activities during the construction of new commercial buildings from the ground up. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in commercial construction methods, and the ability to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution and Supervision:

  • Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities for ground-up commercial projects, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and laborers, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, conduct regular site inspections, and address any issues or delays promptly to keep the project on track.

Safety Management:

  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on the construction site.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Quality Control:

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Address any deficiencies or non-conformities identified during inspections and implement corrective measures to maintain quality and mitigate risks.

Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of all phases of the project.
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to provide updates on progress and address any concerns.
  • Coordinate deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure they arrive on-site when needed and are properly stored and secured.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, inspection records, and change orders.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to project managers and clients, detailing project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Ensure all project documentation is organized and accessible for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (5 years) as a superintendent, with a focus on ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations relevant to commercial buildings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (preferred).
