We have an exciting opportunity to join BSA Hospital as the Nursing Director of Emergency Services.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nursing Director of Emergency Services is a professional Registered Nurse with twenty-four hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of BSA. This role is responsible for the overall administrative, financial and clinical activities of the Emergency Room.


Responsibilities

  • Directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
  • Collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Contributing to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
  • Deliver individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach and according to standards of care, facility’s code of conduct compliance, and policy in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Systematically evaluate quality and factors relating to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
  • Implement Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management Programs in nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
  • Lead efforts to develop and maintain a trauma center.
  • Acquire and maintain current knowledge in nursing practice.
  • Contribute to professional development of peers, colleagues and others.
  • Assist the trauma program coordinator in developing and meeting the trauma program budgetary goals.
  • Directs and administers strategic, operational, fiscal and personnel activities for the ER Department in accordance with established regulatory agencies.
  • Prepares and manages budgets, manages/supervises staff and ensures quality services are provided through daily operations.
  • Manages clinical operations and development for assigned area(s) with measurable improvements in clinical outcomes and customer patient satisfaction.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - Required.
  • Masters Degree - Highly Preferred.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated Emergency Department nursing leadership experience in an acute care setting, with a total of 5 years relevant clinical experience.
  • 2 years minimum experience in a Trauma Level III or higher emergency department setting.

Licenses & Certifications

  • RN License in State of TX or valid multi-state compact license.
  • ACLS, TNCC,
  • PALS or NRP - Required.
  • Current CPR - Required.
  • Current BLS - Required.
  • CEN Preferred.
