Office Manager

Our client, a professional services firm headquartered in Hauppauge, Long Island, is seeking a dedicated Office Manager for a direct-hire position. This role is particularly demanding during the busy season (January through April), requiring a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives under pressure. After the busy season, the workload diminishes, and the ideal candidate should be able to stay productive without constant supervision.
Key responsibilities include answering inbound phone calls, distributing and handling outgoing mail, and interacting with office visitors and clients with a friendly demeanor. Patience and a positive attitude are essential.
Schedule:
Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM (on-site) with a 1-hour break.
Summer hours (end of May to end of August): Monday to Thursday, 9 AM - 5:30 PM; Friday, 9 AM - 3 PM.
Busy season: 55-hour work week, including Saturdays, with overtime pay.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organize office activities
- Oversee stock of office supplies, and maintain public areas
- Greet visitors at office
- Coordinate inbound and outbound office mail
- Scanning and filing
- Bank deposits
- Support HR in scheduling meetings, interviews
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (required)
- 4+ years experience with administrative and clerical work required
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask
- Friendly and upbeat demeanor
- Excels in a smaller work environment, able to keep confidentiality
