(AMT, Inc.) is hiring Transportation Construction Inspectors to support projects throughout the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) District 5 (Anne Arundel, Calvert, St. Mary's, and Charles counties). With the opportunity to work alongside supportive management, tackle challenging projects, and develop your career, there is no better time to join AMT.ResponsibilitiesPerform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projectsResearch contract plans, specifications & publications prior to conducting inspectionsWrite daily inspection reportsMeasure and document for payment the contractor's completed workVerify proper maintenance of traffic control devices are used and maintainedVerify proper erosion and sediment control devices are installed and maintainedVerify materials are procured from approved suppliersPerform field test on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA)Complete documentation of materials, labor compliance, safety, processing estimates, work orders, and adjustmentsQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentValid driver's licenseReliable means of transportation to travel to, from and on the project siteFluent in spoken and written English languagePreferred: Have at least a year of experience in inspection of highways/bridges/traffic systems. Prior experience with SHAMDE Responsible Person Certification CardSHA Erosion and Sediment Control (Yellow Card)MD Temporary Traffic Control ManagerMARTCP Concrete/HMA/Soils & AggregatesOSHA 10 Hour TrainingPrevious experience with SHA's Maryland Construction Management System (MCMS) or e-MCMS documentationNICET Transportation, WACEL, ACI Concrete Field, NASSCO and IMSA Level 1 Traffic Signal Inspector certificationWhy Join AMT?At AMT, we understand that our most valuable asset is our staff.
