As the Director of Product Development and Merchandising, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and success of our product line. This role requires a unique blend of creativity and analytical skills, as you will be responsible for overseeing both product development and merchandising strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for our product line, aligning with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead the product development process from ideation to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that resonate with our target audience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, marketing, and operations to bring new products to market effectively.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences, informing product innovation and assortment decisions.
  • Manage the merchandising strategy, including product assortment, pricing, and promotional activities, to drive sales and maximize profitability.
  • Optimize product performance through continuous monitoring of key metrics and implementation of data-driven insights.
  • Cultivate relationships with suppliers and vendors to support product development and sourcing initiatives, ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Manage the budget for this segment, allocating resources effectively to achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, merchandising, or related roles within the CPG industry, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and product storytelling.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards common goals.
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer channels is required.
