1st Shift, must be flexible to work off shifts as needed, weekend work every other weekend



Must-haves

  • 3+ years of experience as controls engineer within automotive or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with PLC programming / Software side -- Allen Bradley RsLogix and HMI programming
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience with Automated Material Handling Systems
  • ASRS
  • AME
  • AMR
  • AGC
  • AGV
  • Automated forklifts


Plusses

  • GCCH/GCCS
  • General knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics


Day-to-Day

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the execution of Material Automation Systems. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

We're looking for an engaged, technical engineer to communicate requirements to suppliers, support suppliers at their build shops, integrate supplier solutions into the plant, validate system functionalities, and provide technical and continuous improvement support for newly integrated systems. The Process Engineer must exercise independent judgement, initiative, and creativity to develop innovative solutions and drive best practice implementation. Work may involve developing, testing, and piloting novel manufacturing technology.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)

Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts

Manage program deliverables to program timing milestones

Provide project report outs to senior management

Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)

Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all customers/plants

Provide technical direction to less experienced controls engineers

Design and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems

Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
