Position: Diesel Fleet Technician

Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Pay: $25+ (based on experience)

Experience: 7-10+ years of experience as an advanced mechanic; must have onboard diagnostic and repair experience; must have basic welding skills

Education: High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred; 5 ASE certifications (ten (10) years of vehicle maintenance experience will suffice for certifications)

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or Monday – Friday, 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (rotating on call for weekends)

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Diesel Fleet Technician to join a growing and dynamic team

Job Description:

  • Performs major repairs on fleet vehicles, light/heavy trucks, vans and forklifts; perform advanced diagnostic troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Trains and assists fleet technicians as needed
  • Maintain responsibility for parts, test driving and forklift operations
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulics
  • Must be knowledgeable of Class A air brakes and diesel engine
  • Drive equipment after repair to ensure repair worked

Position Requirements:

  • Obtain a good work ethic with a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Must enjoy working outside year-round when necessary
  • Ability to meet PBV driving qualifications and have Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to pass a DOT physical prior to their first day of employment
  • Obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held
  • Utilize personal mechanic tools sufficient for his/her level of experience
  • Possess proficient experience and knowledge with tools and equipment
  • Must have gasoline, diesel, and propane fuel systems experience
  • Must have experience with air and hydraulic brake systems, air conditioning, general vehicle repair, electrical systems, battery-powered industrial equipment and hydraulic systems
