PRIMARY JOB GOAL: Promote academic and social-emotional success by coordinating key support systems and removing barriers to learning. This position serves as the HVRT lab instructor, leads mental health initiatives, manages 504 plans, and supports the counseling team with 21f and online learning programs. The Student Support Specialist collaborates with students, families, and staff to ensure every student has the resources and guidance needed to graduate ready for their next steps. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Support students in the HVRT lab by providing academic guidance and accountability toward graduation goals. Coordinate and monitor 504 plans, ensuring appropriate evaluation, implementation, and compliance. Mentor students in 21f and online courses, supporting progress and communication with instructors. Lead and participate in mental health initiatives and crisis response in collaboration with counselors and support staff. Serve on Advanced Tiers and PBIS teams to strengthen student intervention systems. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to ensure effective communication and follow-through on student support plans. Assist with assessment administration and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements. Foster positive home-school relationships and encourage parent engagement. Contribute to school improvement and professional learning efforts as a participant or facilitator. Maintain regular, consistent attendance and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee. Required QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field. Experience in a school setting with demonstrated impact on student outcomes or system improvement. Strong collaboration skills with teachers, families, and community partners. Proven ability to build positive relationships and maintain confidentiality. Experience working with diverse populations and at-risk youth preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and ethical conduct. Maintains accurate records and meets deadlines consistently.
