Analytical Chemist


About the role

Responsible for performing analytical method validations, sample analysis, and data interpretation in a regulated environment. Ensures the scientific integrity of analytical data generated in the test article laboratory and for proper instrumentation operation and maintenance to be performed. Accountable for organization and maintenance of analytical binders and QC of sample analysis and validation data as well as developing analytical methods and troubleshooting methods and instruments.

What You'll Do Here

  • Understands and practices Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Performs dose concentration analysis on study samples, and qualifications of analytical methods using UV and LC methods
  • Performs analysis for validation of analytical methods for test article formulations using LC or UV methods.
  • Under supervision of the Scientist creates and develops analytical methods
  • Assists Scientist in training junior staff on all aspects of analytical chemistry; methods, instrumentation, data
  • Participates in reviewing SOPs for laboratory procedures and equipment for completeness and accuracy
  • Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting instruments.
  • Responsible for maintaining and organizing study binders and QC of data
  • Assists Scientist in Method Validation Plans and Reports
  • Maintains lab supplies and schedules instrument PM and non- routine services
  • Attends Protocol review meetings as appropriate
  • Assists in receipt, handling and disposition of samples and standards
  • Assists in SOP and form modifications
  • Prepares formulation instructions and formulates for validation studies

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • BS/MS in a scientific discipline preferably chemistry, analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical science.
  • Minimum 3 years in GLP/GMP regulated environment conducting analysis.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and database programs.
  • Experience in analytical software like Empower, Analyst, Chemstation, etc. is required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and Protocols.
  • Ability to instruct others on day to day activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Continual GLP Training and analytical training
  • Solid reasoning ability
  • Experience with Empower software is a plus
