The position of Quality Engineer Supervisor is responsible for the direct management and operational oversight of the Quality Engineering Team. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager and lead a highly experienced and professional team of Quality Department professionals in meeting the goals of our customers, and the company. The successful candidate will additionally ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.


The Quality Engineer Supervisor will apply their knowledge and skills in various types of disciplines such as manufacturing processes, aviation repair and the regulations that govern civil aviation. This position will collaborate with other company experts of the business daily, thus ensuring the continuous growth of knowledge to successfully perform in the position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure timely closure of investigations into customer complaints and warranty investigations including the root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions, technical reporting, and communication with customers.
  2. Continuously improve the effectiveness of preventative actions resulting from investigations or continuous improvement activities.
  3. Audit product work instruction packages generated by engineering. Review and approve work instructions, tooling, and inspection methods used throughout the company for compliance with original equipment manufacturer requirements and other technical data, current customer work instructions, and industry standards.
  4. Ensure that maintenance release certificates are reviewed and approved daily.
  5. Provide direct managerial oversight of the department and personnel.
  6. Establish daily, weekly, and monthly objectives for the QE team.
  7. Motivate, coach, and counsel team members to achieve desired results.
  8. Coordinate, plan and direct all activities of the Quality Engineering Department in unison with the Quality Manager.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience leading professionals in problem solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  2. Experience successfully resolving customer issues and warranty investigations.
  3. Experience communicating with multiple teams and levels during problem solving efforts.


PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field, with emphasis on quality control.
  2. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification (CQE)


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  2. Above average knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
  3. Experience in interpreting and applying basic shop math and the use of measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers.
  4. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  5. If applicable, meet the prescribed requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration, or other regulatory entities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
  2. Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
  3. Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.
  4. Occasionally required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 lbs.
