Director of Compliance and PrivacyCBRE, Inc is seeking a Director of Compliance and Privacy to establish and oversee the compliance and privacy programs for CBRE's business segment, Industrious, a leading workplace provider for companies of all sizes and stages. As the Director of Compliance and Privacy for Industrious, you will be responsible for establishing and managing a robust compliance and ethics program for Industrious while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and alignment with CBRE's internal compliance and privacy policies. This role provides strategic direction, manages compliance and risk, develops and enforces compliance frameworks, and fosters a culture of ethics and integrity throughout the organization. This position reports to the Vice President, Gov't & Defense, M&A Integration, and Regulatory Compliance and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's success in providing high-quality real estate, facilities management, and project management services to CBRE clients across the globe. We are searching for individuals with expertise in strategic problem-solving and team building for dynamic business environments.What You'll DoCompliance Program Leadership:Develop, implement, and maintain a strong compliance and privacy program aligned with CBRE's internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines.Act as the primary expert on compliance and regulatory matters, providing strategic guidance to executive and departmental leadership on how regulatory developments affect organizational operations.Lead risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risk, as well as develop mitigation strategies to avoid future risk.Regulatory Oversight and Monitoring:Monitor and interpret new and evolving legislation, laws, regulations, and standards relevant to the organization's business operations.Ensure timely updates to policies, procedures, and controls in response to regulatory changes and evolving business needs.Collaborate with internal audit on to monitor program adherence, review findings, identify corrective actions, and align remediation efforts to strengthen overall governance.Policy and Procedure Development:Draft, update, and enforce policies and procedures necessary for a robust compliance and ethics program, including global privacy and data protection policies.Ensure policies are communicated effectively and consistently throughout the organization.Encourage operational alignment and capable of influencing business area agreement on compliance objectives.Training and Awareness:Design and deliver compliance and privacy training programs for employees and organization leadership.Foster a culture of ethics and compliance through communication, leadership visibility, and engagement initiatives.Investigation & Remediation:Manage internal investigations of compliance-related issues, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and remediation.Investigate, manage, and report privacy incidents or data breaches in alignment with regulatory requirements and CBRE policies in partnership with CBRE's Global Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Compliance team.Collaboration Across Lines of Defense:Function as a second-line advisor, working closely with operational leadership to embed compliance controls into the frontline activities.Partner with business unit leaders to proactively design and implement processes that meet compliance requirements from the outset.Collaborate with the legal team and executive leaders to develop and implement the compliance strategy, integrating critical metrics, for Industrious.Partner with CBRE's Global Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Compliance team, IT, Legal, and business segments to review systems, contracts, and vendor relationships for privacy compliance.Additional Responsibilities:Improve and modify current approaches, procedures, and norms within job field.Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.Other job-related duties may be assigned.What You'll NeedTo perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. institution (Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school preferred).A minimum of 8+ years' relevant experience in compliance or data privacy with 3 years of experience in a leadership role at a highly matrixed global organization is preferred.Experience implementing corporate compliance programs, including knowledge of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, relevant SEC compliance program guidelines, and the US DOJ Guidance on the Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs, as may be amended from time to time.Experience with privacy programs, including knowledge of major privacy and data protection regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA.Proven ability to design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide compliance programs.Expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and industry standards.Exceptional communication, interpersonal, influence, and relationship-building skills.Experience developing and presenting training to business leaders and legal professionals.Strong entrepreneurial approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage change in complex organizations.In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. The minimum salary for the Director, Compliance and Privacy position is $175,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Director, Compliance and Privacy position is $200,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
