Job Description:

  • Oracle DBA with good Dataguard experience and Goldengate expertise
  • Due to the majority of the work focusing on AWS having strong cloud DBA skills is a mandatory requirement
  • Most of these requests will be to manage Oracle RDS databases on AWS either the creation of new databases or changes enhancements to the application content in existing ones
  • Additionally we would expect that the resource has the following
  • Minimum 5 years of experience building and supporting Oracle RDBMS Real Application Clusters RAC and ASM versions 11 12 and 19 preferred
  • Comfortable using a variety of command line and GUI tools to access and work with Oracle databases both on premise and on AWS Cloud including but not limited to Oracle SQL Developer or SQL Plus
  • Familiar with the use of Oracle data movement tools such as SQL Loader and DataPump
  • Proficient using RMAN to configure and run database backup and restore operations
  • Working expertise with creation running and debugging of KORN shell scripts for automation
  • Expertise in helping developers deploy DDL structural changes to database objects
  • Strong experience in macro level database performance analysis and diagnosis including knowledge of wait events and how to view macro performance metrics in either Oracle Enterprise Manager AWS CloudWatch or using the command line
  • Background in assisting developers with SQL query performance tuning through the use of tools like EXPLAIN PLAN or SQLT TRCA
