Job Title: HIM Operations Release of Information (ROI) Manager (On-Site Contract-to-Hire)Contract: 6 months (12/8/2025 6/5/2026), Contract-to-Hire opportunityJob Description:Were hiring a Release of Information (ROI) Manager to oversee the daily operations of ROI services within The Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH). Reporting to the Director of HIM Operations, this leader will manage a team of 13 ROI staff, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations, supervising vendor relationships, and serving as a Privacy Liaison under the direction of the Privacy Office. This position plays a key role in optimizing workflows, maintaining performance standards, and ensuring exceptional service across JHH and Bayview facilities.Location:On-site, 5 days/week at 1800 Orleans St, Baltimore, MD 21287Occasional travel (12 times per week) to Bayview for vendor oversightEquipment providedHIPAA-compliant workspace requiredShift:Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM ESTEstimated start date: December 8, 2025Team & Scope:13-member team: 1 Supervisor, 2 Leads, and 10 ROI SpecialistsOversight of ROI operations at JHH (some ROI work outsourced to vendors)Liaison between HIM, Privacy, and Legal departmentsResponsible for handling patient requests, continuity of care, privacy concerns, and complianceThe team is relatively new most members have been with Hopkins for three years or lessRequired Skills & Experience:Strong Release of Information (ROI) and HIPAA backgroundExperience leading and developing teamsProficiency in Epic HIM modulesUnderstanding of ROI workflows, policies, and proceduresRequired Qualifications:RHIA credential requiredBachelors degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or a related fieldMust have 5-10 years of hands-on ROI experienceProven leadership experience in multi-facility HIM operationsStrong communication, collaboration, and process improvement skills
