With a proud history of advocacy, education, and union representation, WSNA is committed to advancing the nursing profession and improving healthcare outcomes for all.Position SummaryThe Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of WSNA, responsible for advancing the organization's mission, strategic direction, and operational excellence. This includes leadership across political advocacy, union engagement, professional development, and equity in nursing. The Executive Director works in close partnership with the Board of Directors, staff, and members to strengthen WSNA's influence and impact.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and oversight of all organizational functionsGuide public policy initiatives that promote safe staffing, patient care, and professional standardsRepresent WSNA in key relationships with government agencies, labor coalitions, and healthcare institutionsEnsure financial sustainability, operational integrity, and alignment with WSNA's missionFoster a culture of inclusion, respect, and equity across all programs and member engagementIntegrate principles of compassion and respect for the dignity, worth, and unique attributes of every person into organizational policies, member engagement, efforts to address health and socioeconomic disparities, and public advocacyCandidate ProfileProven executive leadership in labor, nonprofit, or healthcare sectorsExpertise in public policy, organizational strategy, and stakeholder engagementStrong commitment to equity, inclusion, and worker empowermentExceptional communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
