We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Advanced Primary Care Practice. Our practice has been innovative in integrating mental health management into primary care.
As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive medical and mental health care to patients of all ages 18 years and above. Your role will involve assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with mental health disorders and promoting mental wellness. Family Nurse Practitioners with experience in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders may also apply.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine the mental health needs of patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Prescribe and manage appropriate medications for mental health conditions
- Provide therapy and counseling services to individuals, families, or groups
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of patients through regular follow-up visits
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health
- Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Previous experience working in a psychiatric or mental health setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
