We are an exciting independent media company dedicated to journalism and educational impact. Our goal is to empower viewers with a clear understanding of what's happening in their communities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Videographer to travel nationally to capture compelling footage for educational documentaries on a variety of topics, including true crime and history. The position will be contracted under 1099, with potential for permanent hire.

Compensation Details:

  • Documentarian: $20-$30 hourly, depending on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package provided upon permanent employment
  • Assignments will be on an as-needed basis
  • Travel expenses to be covered for any filming trips (does not include reimbursement for personal expenses)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in broadcasting, film or communications
  • College classes in video editing, screenwriting, media ethics and cinematography
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a videographer
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro and After Effects is a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Must own your own equipment
  • Must be comfortable with traveling
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to meet hard deadlines
  • Must be flexible in planning of trips for filming
  • Ability to work independently or within a team, and adapt to changing roles as the company grows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable with covering true crime cases that may include sensitive topics
