We are looking for individuals with a strong background in Electrical Engineering design with a strong background in ETP and balance of plant designs with experience and/or interest in working on design/build and EPC projects. Our rapidly growing Industrial Design Group, which includes process, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Consumer Products, Heavy Manufacturing, Industrial Buildings Industrial Water and Utilities. Location This position can be based out of our Lenexa (Kansas City) KS or Lone Tree (Denver) CO locations. We will also consider other remote locations near Kiewit offices, with an expectation that you will travel up to 40% of the time to our main Lenexa Kansas office. We do offer relocation assistance. Responsibilities • Prepare electrical engineering designs, including layout, design schematics, calculations and conceptual designs; utilizing standard methods and project principles. • Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to design medium to large industrial projects. • Formulate technical specifications and prepare interface points with construction partners. Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with other project personnel, performing bid evaluations of equipment and construction proposals and developing recommendations for contract award. • Review electrical requirements for new facilities and project plans. • Perform ETP analysis and simulation, system modeling, protection coordination, reliability studies, load flow studies and grounding integrity • Utilize SmartPlant for balance of plant electrical systems design. • Mentor and guide junior engineers, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes, and Kiewit guidelines, providing suggestions and recommendations as needed. • Work independently on small projects, or as a part of a large multi-discipline team on larger projects, including working with both in-house inter-discipline engineers and construction partners to provide our Clients the industry's best of both engineering and physical design. • Support RFP, Pre-Feed, FEED, D/B and EPC projects for electrical designs across multiple markets. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university and EIT license is required. • At least 5 years' experience performing Electrical engineering design for Industrial facilities (which could include Chemical plants, Mining/Mineral Processing, Power, Water/Wastewater, Processing plants, Advanced manufacturing plants, data centers, EV Battery). • Experience with ETAP simulation/analysis is required (or similar software). • Experience with SmartPlant, or similar software for design. • PE preferred, or willingness to obtain within a year. • Experience with FEED, D/B, EPC designs, familiar with 30/60/90% completion design progression. • Experience in field construction or startup and previous experience directing junior engineers is desirable. #LI-JB1 #LI-JB1 Other Requirements: • Regular, reliable attendance • Work productively and meet deadlines timely • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment • Perform work safely and effectively.
