JOB SUMMARY:

 

At Nucleus Biologics, we are driving the movement to Precision Cell Culture by providing the highest quality cell culture solutions. We have a state-of-the-art facility where we will be manufacturing our products. The Manufacturing Technician II role will assist the manufacturing team with activities related to manufacturing cell culture supplements in a cGMP environment. Candidate must be open to potential career growth within an expanding team. We are looking for a proven performer who is process oriented, meticulous and self-motivated. Ideally, candidate has some lab management experience. This individual will assist with cGMP related activities such as materials receipt and inspection, equipment calibration, and inventory upkeep.



II.   RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·    Assist with inventory (raw material, consumables, finished product) and asset management used in manufacturing

·    Upkeep of equipment (asset tags, preventative maintenance, calibration schedule) as required

·    Printing labels for final production

·    Understand and comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

·    Execute production of manufactured goods as outlined by the production schedule

·      Trained and qualified on aseptic processes and related equipment

·      Troubleshoot production issues in conjunction with other departments (Quality, Facilities, Doc Control)

·      Initiate Quality Events (non-conformances)

·      Assist in Validation and Preventative Maintenance activities as required

·      Contribute to documentation and process improvement

·      Exercise a basic understanding of Lean/Six Sigma concepts

·      Update process documentation (i.e. Work Instructions) as required

·      Ability to perform interim Lead Technician duties as needed


III.   REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION:

Associate Degree Required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred BS/BA in Biology/Immunology a plus.


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

·      Requires 3+ years of experience in biologics or cell manufacturing.

·      Prior experience working in cGMP environment a plus


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·      Strong attention to detail and organization

·      Experience in cGMP manufacturing environment is a plus

·      Experience in formulation or media manufacturing is a plus

·      Cell culture experience is a plus

·      Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain productive working relationships

·      Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with Company guidelines

·      Strong process mindset


PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:

·      Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems; ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·      Ability to hear and speak to employees and external associates on the phone and in person.

·      Ability to see the letters and numbers on a personal computer screen and on memos, reports and other documents (near vision)

·      Ability to lift at 25 lbs to a height of 3-4 feet on a regular basis


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

·      May require travel to and from Nucleus Biologics offices or customer/vendor locations
