Job SummaryThis position is integral to the success of the organization. Equipment and facilities services must operate at an optimum level to ensure that quality product is delivered to our customers. Sanitation contributes to the recurring upkeep and ongoing sanitation of plant equipment. In addition to providing daily janitorial cleaning necessary for proper appearance and function of the facility. Provides ongoing sanitation to the facilities, offices, breakrooms, rest rooms and outside grounds.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLearn, practice, and adhere to all written current good manufacturing processes (cGMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as they apply to cleaning and sanitizing of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and all general areasLearn, practice, and adhere to all Safety and Quality Policies and ProceduresLearn, practice, and adhere to all Maintenance Department Policies and ProceduresRead, understand, and follow manufacturer's directions for all chemicals used in the process of sanitizing manufacturing equipmentProperly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safeguard against exposure to chemicals, electrical hazards, and eye and ear hazardsMixes sanitizing solutions for cleaning parts, equipment, and facilitiesCleans parts, equipment, equipment carts, racks, polishing brushes, mops, and mop bucketsMaintains daily logs directly associated with specifically assigned areas, and report any deviations to the Sanitation SupervisorAssists with various bathroom duties (i.e.: excessive water clean-up, replacing light bulbs, re-filling toilet seat covers, spot check and clean restrooms as needed, monitor lunch/break room area and clean as necessary throughout the process of normal operating hours)Maintain cleanliness of water fountains throughout the entire facilityMaintain supplies throughout the building (i.e.: hair nets, beard nets, shoe coverings, paper towels, paper cups, etc.)Maintain the facility and grounds (i.e.: weeding, trash removal, and overall cleanliness of area outside building, on a daily basis and responsible for maintaining the appropriate logs, report any deviations to the Sanitation Supervisor)Completes assigned daily sanitation on plant equipment and facilityMaintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure efficiency, employee safety, and product integrityDemonstrate good judgment by reacting to unsafe acts or conditions by making them safe or reporting them to those who can correct themPerform assigned tasks while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as requiredWork in other areas, as neededMust maintain confidentiality at all timesPerforms all other duties as assignedRegular and reliable attendanceQualificationsDesired Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED, and 1+ years work experience preferably in a manufacturing environmentRead, write, speak, and comprehend EnglishComprehend basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights and measures, and efficient use of a calculatorAbility to communicate both written and orally within the organizationAbility to safely use hand and power tools applicable to the tasksPositive suggestions to improve operations in the work centerTeam Oriented - being helpful, respectful, approachable, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment, is responsible, honest, loyal, interacts with others tactfully, resolves conflicts appropriately and adapts to changeBasic mechanical skills to disassemble and reassemble sanitation equipmentDemonstrated time management skillsFollow verbal and written instructionsGood hand-eye coordinationAbility to give positive suggestions to improve operations in the plantAbility to work well under changing demands including hours of operationRequires excellent cleaning skills, accuracy, reliability, and attention to qualityGood work ethic, highly motivated self starter, and hands-on problem solverAbility to detect, recognize, and judge discrepanciesRequires accuracy, reliability, and attention to detailPhysical DemandsVision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standardsAbility to stand for long periods of time, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, walk, and fine motor skills to work with the following tools: pressure washer, small hand tools, pallet jacks, mops, brooms, ladders, and portable stairsAbility to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and move heavier weights using proper equipmentMust be able to work with exposure to the elements for short periodsMust be able to work in elevated positions, at up to 25 feet and using proper safety precautionsWork EnvironmentRequires ability to work in an environment that contains fumes, dust, odors, low level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel required (i.e.: safety glasses, shoe covers, gloves, hair net, face mask, or respirator)May require working in cramped spaces or extending hands into machinery, working outside, and exposed to inclement weather
