Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Markets (Equity Debt & Structured Finance)The Capital Markets Senior Financial Analyst ("CMFA") will serve as dedicated support to a San Francisco-based top fee-earner within Cushman & Wakefield's Capital Markets Equity Debt & Structured Finance (EDSF) group. The team represents institutional owners of all major property types throughout the Western United States. Senior Analysts will support all phases of the financing process, including preparing detailed financial analysis and valuations, assisting in preparing proposals for new business opportunities, and creating marketing materials for new assignments. This role will be based in San Francisco, California and the candidate must be available to work on-site in a local Cushman & Wakefield office. Team members may be expected to travel and work outside normal operating hours to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have the desire to grow in the commercial real estate industry, have a strong background in financial analysis, excellent writing skills, be self-motivated with excellent time management skills to prioritize deadlines, and have a strong work ethic.Essential DutiesPrepare debt sizings to determine possible financing options for each dealPrepare debt and/or equity offering memoranda for commercial real estate transactions, including gathering client and property information, section write ups, creating tables, graphs and charts, and managing the graphic design process in conjunction with a graphic designerPrepare financial models in Excel and Argus for clients which outline valuation and pricing structuresAnalyze and evaluate rent rolls and operating statements of properties being considered for financing or sale to determine feasibility and valuationPrepare pro forma statements and projections which accurately reflect past history of properties, as well as current and projected future market conditionsPrepare discounted cash flow analysesResearch, analyze, and evaluate market feasibility for various real estate transactionsAssist in collecting and evaluating required due diligence for transactions: make necessary inquiries to clients to ensure that required information is provided timelyUnderstand and review real estate documents (leases, operating statements, rent rolls, loan documents, appraisals, etc.) to determine if any issues/inconsistencies existConvey all particulars of a transaction (financial projections, market and location issues and tenant analysis etc.) in formal written format for financing packages and/or sales offering materials presented to clientsGenerate weekly reports and updates to senior brokers on calling program status and loan quote gridsCollect lender/investor bids and maintain quote matrix, lender listsParticipate in marketing callsPlay an active role in business development meetings and help coordinate strategies for new businessContact and respond to lender requests/questionsAssist in conducting property tours / inspectionsOther duties as assignedOther Requirements & Administrative DutiesBachelor's degree with coursework in accounting, finance, economics and/or real estate, with strong academic credentials. MBA is a plus. Combination of education without a degree and corporate work experience may be considered. 2 to 5+ years of commercial real estate financial analysis and/or finance experience preferably with a commercial real estate firm engaged in consulting, appraisal, investing, lending, or brokerage, Capital Markets experience a plus. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to construct, apply and analyze complex financial models in Excel and Argus Enterprise preferred. Strong written communication skills developing high-level analysis summaries. Passion for client delivery, with strong emphasis on producing high-quality work, meeting deadlines, and strong personal initiative to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment. Ability to function in a team-oriented setting while working independently with limited day-to-day supervision. Strong time management, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and work in a high-volume, fast past transaction-oriented environment. Takes charge and is proactive in all aspects of role. Growth oriented mindset, desire to learn and shares knowledge to help others succeed. Ability to maintain attention to detail while working under tight deadlines. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advance Excel skills preferred. Ability and willingness to travel and work extended hours, including some weekends as needed.
