Detailed Responsibilities:

Laboratory Experiments and Analysis:

  • Conduct laboratory experiments to support research projects.
  • Interpret experimental techniques and procedures.
  • Prepare thorough reports on data results.
  • Collaborate with investigators for research testing as per SOPs.
  • Perform scheduled and specialized laboratory procedures of moderate to high complexity.
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory work and convert to electronic records where appropriate.
  • Design and execute experiments to further laboratory goals, ensuring reproducibility and proper control measures.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Collect, organize, and analyze data using multiple IT systems.
  • Maintain updated laboratory notebooks and databases.
  • Prepare data, graphs, and reports for protocol activity tracking.
  • Assist in drafting descriptive analysis and follow-up experiment proposals.
  • Present data at laboratory and scientific meetings; prepare and present posters at scientific conferences.
  • Write abstracts and manuscripts based on study data for scientific meetings/publications.

Quality Control and Equipment Management:

  • Calibrate and operate laboratory instruments following GLP guidelines.
  • Document equipment troubleshooting and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform daily calibration, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor equipment schedules and generate maintenance reports.
  • Conduct regular upkeep and quality control checks of laboratory equipment.

Procurement and Inventory Management:

  • Coordinate procurement functions in the laboratory.
  • Manage laboratory supplies, chemicals, biological materials, and equipment.
  • Prepare and execute purchase requests via procurement systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive inventory records.

Training and Mentorship:

  • Train and mentor laboratory staff, including students, post-doctoral fellows, and technicians.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for new research technologies and tools.
  • Conduct specialized training sessions and ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
  • Mentor junior team members in assay development and lab equipment use.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend laboratory and facility staff meetings.
  • Keep abreast of current research projects and advancements.
  • Develop strategies with supervisors and other laboratory personnel for subsequent experiments.
