The COBRA Analyst's role is to process COBRA matters following current laws and regulations. This includes processing COBRA election notices, completing COBRA election forms, and making COBRA payments.

What You'll Do:


  • Generate all required COBRA Election Notices to plan participants in accordance with COBRA laws and regulations.
  • Review the Plan Documents for each group to create COBRA rate sheets and ensure only COBRA-qualifying products are being billed and paid for by the member.
  • Coordinate communication between internal departments regarding COBRA customer service matters, including COBRA qualifying events.
  • Communicate with the COBRA software vendor about any system issues
  • Communicate with members by email or by phone when needed to resolve any COBRA questions or concerns
  • Update the Billing system and COBRA system to ensure everything is processed correctly for COBRA and Termed Groups
  • Complete various audit reporting
  • Assist with the Termed Group process as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


What You'll Need:


  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to change
  • Ability to be detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet department deadlines.
  • Ability to be self-sufficient with minimum oversight.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the Internet.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and insurance products (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of COBRA laws and regulations (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Billing and Implementation to process COBRA payments. (Preferred)
