The Funding Advisor works closely with student leaders to ensure the integrity of the eligibility and allocations process in accordance with viewpoint neutrality. This position is committed to student Shared Governance, student development, and providing education around complex university, system, and ASM policies. This role also supports applicants for General Student Services Fund Registered Student Organizations. Key Job Responsibilities: Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Manage the application process for the General Student Services Fund and advise prospective applicants Organizing student-focused training and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives. Advise students on the financial policies of ASM, UW Madison and UW System and assist students on implementing those policies Recommends, interprets, disseminates and implements unit-focused fiscal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with established rules, regulations and financial guidelines Department: Student Affairs, Student Advocacy, Associated Students of Madison (ASM) The Associated Students of Madison (ASM) is the official student governance body of UW-Madison, representing the needs of over 50,000 students. ASM is composed of roughly 50 elected or appointed students, 8 professional staff members, and 200 student appointees on committees that hold legal rights to recommend university policies, budgets, and candidates for UW employment. ASM allocates over $75 million in segregated university fees each year and is responsible for management of the Student Activity Center and distribution of the student bus pass. The roles of ASM can be divided into three categories: direct action, governance, and service. ASM is part of Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, led by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being, student success and belonging, leadership and engagement, and student advocacy. Student Affairs includes departments led by the Dean of Students; departments that provide belonging spaces and leadership resources; the Wisconsin Union; University Health Services; and University Recreation and Wellbeing. Compensation: The expected minimum starting salary for this position is $66,500.00 annually. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Experience with budget management and fiscal policies within a university system. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience supporting student leaders and a commitment to student development and holistic advising support. Experience presenting and educating to large and diverse audiences. Education: Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred in Higher Education Student Affairs or a related field.
