Join the dedicated team at MedStar Health as an MRI Imaging Specialist We are passionate about providing high-quality diagnostic care and are searching for a skilled professional to perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations in a dynamic environment. As an MRI Imaging Specialist, you will: Conduct thorough patient interviews to uncover any contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and relevant medical conditions, tailoring examinations based on patient history. Verify prescriptions and protocols, ensure appropriate imaging parameters are used, and administer contrast based on patient weight, while checking renal function status. Carefully assess image quality before concluding any examinations. Document examinations accurately, ensuring all data is properly recorded in Cerner, PACS, PenRad, and DynaCAD when applicable. Assist with the organization and maintenance of inventory while keeping the work area spotless and compliant with safety standards. Prepare films and CDs efficiently upon request. Contribute to protocol development and implementation, and mentor new personnel and Radiology School students on procedures, imaging protocols, and departmental policies. Collect and report quality control data to managers, including film usage and equipment issues. Complete all necessary information system operations to ensure accurate patient information, billing, examinations, and other essential functions. Qualifications: Associate's degree or one to three years of formal training from an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Job-related experience or successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program. This requirement may be waived for MedStar Washington Hospital Center Radiology School students who have completed a rotation in MRI. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) MRI or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) certification within one year is required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is necessary. This position has a competitive hiring range of USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 per hour.
