This is not an enterprise IT or banking software role - this is a hands-on opportunity to build the technology that powers connected communication products used across the globe. You'll join a cross-functional engineering team that's developing next-generation products combining embedded systems, firmware, and cloud-connected back-end services. The ideal candidate is a deep TypeScript developer who loves solving system-level problems, collaborates effectively, and communicates clearly across disciplines. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services in TypeScript / Node.js for cloud-connected and embedded technology platforms. Collaborate closely with embedded software and hardware teams to integrate back-end systems with device firmware. Architect middleware and API layers that bridge software and hardware ecosystems. Work within Linux-based environments, optimizing system performance, reliability, and deployment. Implement and maintain CI/CD automation, code quality controls, and performance monitoring tools. Participate in cross-functional technical reviews and product design discussions with global teams. Contribute to continuous improvement in architecture, tooling, and documentation. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on TypeScript and Node.js back-end development. Proven ability to design and deploy high-performance back-end services that integrate with hardware or embedded systems. Strong understanding of software design principles, asynchronous programming, and modular architecture. Experience working with Linux environments, modern CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies (AWS preferred). Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional and remote team environments. Prior experience working successfully remote with distributed engineering teams. Preferred Experience Exposure to IoT, firmware integration, or hardware-interfacing systems. Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, or serverless architecture. Familiarity with REST and GraphQL API design patterns. Background in middleware or systems bridging embedded and cloud layers. Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $135,000 - $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and location. Employment Type: Full-time, exempt.
