In this vital role, you'll lead and supervise inmate work crews, maintain plumbing tools and equipment, and perform preventive maintenance on all facility plumbing systems. Responsibilities include cleaning sewer lines, repairing fixtures, and completing a variety of general maintenance tasks. Bring your expertise to a mission-driven team committed to safety and operational excellence.Job Duties:Cleans small and large sewer drains and repairs toilets, sinks, faucets, water heaters, and boilersInstalls plumbing fixtures, plumbing drains, and water linesConducts general maintenance as instructed by supervisorsDrives on state businessPerforms other duties appropriate to the assignmentKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of general building and preventative maintenanceWater heaters, water softeners, water boilers, drainage, waste systems, backflows, and plumbing tools/equipmentNational and local building codes and safety practicesCommercial gas linesBasic blueprintsBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suites, to create reports, charts, and researchSkill in written and verbal communicationScheduling of maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance programs for the facilityTime management and organizational techniques/methodsEstablishing and maintaining interpersonal and employee relationships within all organizational levelsAbility to lift/carry up to 50lbsPush/pull up to 50lbsWalk/run up to 0.25 milesRead and understand blueprints, schematics, and sketchesRemodel, install, and construct utility servicesWork in a prison environmentSelective Preference(s): One (1) year of journeyman-level plumbing experiencePre-employment requirements include passing a background investigation, drug test, and a medical/physical examination. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.)
