IntePros is seeking a Production Operations (ProdOps) Engineer to join our client. This is a fully remote, 6-month contract to hire position This person is responsible for bridging the gap between development, operations, and IT services by fostering a collaborative environment to improve productivity and efficiency. They automate and optimize processes, maintain IT infrastructure, ensure software and systems are up-to-date and secure, and support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.


Production Operations Engineer Responsibilities:

- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines to enable quick and efficient deployment of software into production.

- Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address issues. Provide real-time reports on system performance and usage.

- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintain all operational systems and software. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments.

- Security and Compliance: Ensure all systems meet security benchmarks and compliance requirements. Regularly update security protocols and procedures to mitigate vulnerabilities.

- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with development and operations teams to support the software development lifecycle. Assist in training and supporting developers on using cloud resources and CI/CD processes.

- Performance Optimization: Optimize system performance through real-time monitoring and tweaking configurations. Ensure scalability and reliability of infrastructure.

- Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Propose and implement new tools and techniques to improve team productivity and efficiency.


Production Operations Engineer Responsibilities Skills and Qualifications:

- Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

- Technical Proficiency: Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration, coding/scripting skills in languages like Python, and experience with automation/management frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, …).

- Experience with Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in using Azure Cloud Services.

- Networking Skills: Understanding of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling.

- Databases and PaaS services: Experience with Postgresql, databricks, ADF, Service Bus…

- Tools Familiarity: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, etc. Experience with GitHub (PR, Merge….version control…)

- Collaborative and Adaptive: Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and utilize an iterative method and flexible approach to achieve project goals.


Experience:

- Typically requires 3+ years of experience in a ProdOps role, or related experience in IT operations or software development.
